Autistic people and queer people are the only groups who risk facing the torture of conversion therapy.
ABA and Conversion Therapy are literally the same thing, and were invented by the same person.
It occurs to me that the main connection between autism advocacy and queer advocacy is probably going to be missed by most people.

Autistic people are still subject to conversion therapy, everywhere. Canada (and some other places) have banned conversion therapy for some queer people, but enforcement of these bans is effectively non-existent. In practice, there are no protections against the medicalized torture of queer or autistic children.

@steven@zeroes.ca I’m curious about the claim that ABA and conversion therapy were created by the same person. ABA has definitely been used in conversion therapy but it seems like the people who applied it in that way weren’t the people who invented it. Unless I’m missing something
