@kbsez My hope is that people don't fixate on just the Potter universe but explore the works of other people, especially authors like myself. We write worlds that break down bigotry to build up a more just world. The defense of the Potter universe to trans folks like myself feels very hurtful at this point.
Because no matter how I respond, I am faced with people unwilling to expand horizons or acknowledge the biases baked into the text. Their defenses are brick walls to me.

@kbsez By focusing on the defense of the Potter universe it derails all threads about Rowling's HARM, and thus trans people can't even talk about the harm she's doing because defenders of Potter universe are stuck in a loop of defending their fixation rather than listening to what others are trying to say. I point this out because I'm exhausted by conversations that try to defend the Potter universe. We can't stop Rowling's initiatives if this comes up every single time.
