@mxp@mastodon.acm.org Given the clear issues with AI summaries, it could be worthy of a research project to address those issues. But that would „stink” of GOFAI, and not mindless connectionist pouring of endless numerical linear algebra computational resources into it all that they can only under the pressure of Chinese competition be bothered to make more efficient, but even that only in the mechanics of the numerical linear algebra, which is itself being sent on a fool's errand. The eliminative materialist purism of the mainstream is just getting in the way of achieving better results. In the meantime, subjecting people to the output of pre-alpha quality AI summary software in dire need of going back to the drawing board with is not the way to go.
