Another interesting thing about this timetable is the sheer amount of #CrossBorderRail between Slovenia and Croatia, at a time when the latter was still at war. Lots of long distance international services but also lots of cross border local traffic.
In 2026, with lots more funding and supposedly open borders, we've got a fraction of what used to run here under wartime conditions

I especially like to see the B (Zv) 302 train, the Arena express between Zagreb and Pula via Ljubljana, recently restored by SŽ but only as a weekend service using Stadler DMUs. It ran with the legendary JŽ (later SŽ) series 711 DMUs that have just been retired by SŽ a few weeks ago, after almost 60 years of service. The timetable calls it out as a special type of service: "B (Zv)", Zv = zeleni vlak/green train
