@gruber@mastodon.social This is also close to what I tried to describe to people a long time ago when Google made their automated A/B testing famous. That just mindlessly generating endless amounts of software to fulfil a narrowly defined business goal is not only cynical, but also disgusting, and ultimately even bad for business, because business isn’t only about narrow goals.

@gruber@mastodon.social annoying global perspective note: TV didn’t achieve quality for decades *in the US*. In the UK there are examples right back to the fifties. I would guess there were other countries and languages, usually with state owned networks, that also pulled that off.
