@pathfinder @Zumbador I think I've had a similar thought. Am I officially diagnosed? No. But I can truthfully say "this is too loud for me" and "this is too bright for me" and "texturally no" and however many other experiences may or may not be autistically common, every time they happen.
Wow, though, have I ever met a lot of people who take offence at my sensory experiences.

@Cassandra @Zumbador Knowing that we are not alone in this makes such a huge difference. That all the voices that say it can't be, can no longer make us doubt and disbelieve our own experience. The rest is realising that we have just as much right to need to do something about them and to take them seriously, even if we struggle for others to do so as well, as anyone else has to take care of themselves.
