@KaCi @autistics It never seems to get to that point, not when I'm the one to go first. I just wish I knew better how to get there instead of relying on the other person to lead.

@eruonna We experienced a lot of rejection for being our authentic neurodivergent selves in the past and in my experience that can make us feel insecure when it comes to interactions with ND people too and it can lead to masking although there is no need for it. As @joshsusser explained so well in his reply we have to unlearn the NT rules inside of ND relationships as well and that takes time.
