@notthebee@tilde.zone This is an extreme misrepresentation of both what Gaël Duval said in this interview and our response to it. What he clearly said is that /e/ and Murena aren't providing security hardening which he claims is only useful for pedophiles, criminals and spies. Gaël Duval has repeatedly said this in his posts including ones where he directly says GrapheneOS is only useful for pedophiles, criminals and spies. We can show archives of numerous posts with him saying exactly that.

@notthebee@tilde.zone He specifically mentioned protections against memory corruption as a "feature for pedophiles so they can evade justice". GrapheneOS is currently the only Android-based system that deploys a custom, hardened memory allocator and widely makes use of the ARM MTE. He's specifically targeting GrapheneOS, even if he doesn't mention the name of the project. He wants his statement to remain plausibly deniable, but anyone who listens closely to what he said will immediately see through his shady, manipulative tactics. Duval wants to distract from the fact that his products have atrocious privacy and security and that he's trying to make money with false claims and shady marketing. His statement about protections against memory corruption is also incredibly stupid, because Apple just released their Memory Integrity Enforcement feature based on the ARM v8.9 Enhanced Memory Tagging Extension in their A19 and M5 chips and recent versions of their operating systems. So, going by Duval's logic, Apple also makes products "for pedophiles so they can evade justice". It's entirely nonsensical, manipulative, and deceptive.
