Specifically, I stated that I don't consider ~2 years a reasonable lifetime for a TV (per https://www.ato.gov.au/law/view/document?DocID=ITD%2FEF20151C8%2F00001, TVs used in residential settings have a depreciation schedule spanning 8 years which is a useful guide for reasonable lifetime), so I consider that a major fault under the Consumer Guarantee provided by the law and expect either a free repair or reasonable credit toward a new TV.
