@Robotistry I respect this, you just have no way of knowing that this household is very hostile to "smart home" stuff. I think you could consider having your cat's litter box up on a table or counter, I realize this introduces new problems, but you could probably scoop it more often if it were easier to get to, and then you could get away with less overall litter, making it easier to maneuver and less of a production.     @pencilears Everyone should definitely live with only the level of technology they're comfortable with! I'm a roboticist, so by definition tech-friendly (for at least some kinds of tech). As an autonomous system specialist, my general feeling is that you shouldn't be using an autonomous robot unless there is no alternative. My problem is at least as much getting the *litter* up to counter level in the first place - right now I rely on my family for basically all lifting tasks. And it's not the daily scooping that's a problem, it's the periodic complete emptying and washing and refilling of the boxes. Unrelated to litterboxes - I am trying to figure out where to install a dumbwaiter for general inter-floor transport.
