@pathfinder @autistics Nobody is actually independent, really; we live interlaced lives and rely on all kinds of community and infrastructure. What I think that old lady might have had which others don't is autonomy. People helped her to do the things she wanted to do, not constrained her. Absolutely lovely and I hope to achieve it myself, somehow.
