@silvermoon82 hmmm ok, my lack of understanding is apparent: if I buy a 5.25” drive, I would need an ISA or PCI controller card? Or are you suggesting I pull out a controller from somewhere else?
I watched a video of a guy in Sweden (if memory serves) who pulled the controller board out of a USB floppy drive and connected it to the floppy card edge of a 5.25 inch drive and could read data off a disk via USB.

@digitalkrampus If your motherboard has floppy connectors then all you need is a ribbon cable with the right connection for a 5.25" drive, which might have already been included with your mobo or case.
