@mcmartin Oh, this is very exciting, since I'm now retired and am toying with the idea of learning 6502 machine language on the Apple II. I use Virtual ][ on the Mac for emulation. It allows me to do Z80 and CP/M as well, which is what first drew me to Apple II emulation; I was a Commodore 64 guy back in the day.

@lhauser@mefi.social It is an extremely good time to be getting into the Apple II. I've felt that the A2 community has focused heavily on preserving the usefulness of old hardware, compared to say C64 or Sinclair, but there's been a recent flowering of open-sourcing and rewritten tooling that make it much more pleasant to work with. The change in tone between my early Apple II crossdev articles and my more recent ones is *very stark*.
