I've been using this feature for almost two decades now, and my muscle memory is accustomed to this to the point that I require a dedicated physical mouse button, and I will refuse to buy a laptop that lacks a dedicated physical middle mouse button. And yes, I've used this for pasting even on my old Thinkpad X31 where holding the middle button while using the trackpoint was used for scrolling due to the X31 having no touchpad at all.

@srslypascal "dedicated physical button" also on desktop? Do you remap from the default (wheel) to a thumb button? But most of my pasting is done with 'p' or 'P' anyway. 😊 As for Thinkpads I had one without separate buttons (just virtual as part of a clicky touchpad), it was horrible indeed.

@srslypascal Wow, that X31 keyboard/trackpoint combo does look great! No touchpad would be great even today. (I immediately disable it.)
