Does anyone here do the "slicing" phase of 3D printing on #Linux? if so, what software do you use for it? I'm used to #Chitubox but it only has a Windows and MacOS installer. Anyone managed to get that to work on Linux (#Ubuntu or #ZorinOS)? #3DPrinting

@elduvelle@neuromatch.social Try out prusaslicer. It looks FDM focused but it does work for SLA too if you configure it, you may just need to use uvtools to convert it into the format your printer wants

Thanks for all the answers so far! There's a diversity of recommendation so I wonder if people have a favourite slicing program, in my case it's for #ResinPrinting (I don't know if it makes a difference), usually for very small items, with a Phrozen Mini 8K. #3DPrinting only for #Linux (Edit: sorry, I had to edit the poll after 12 votes because I realised OrcaSlicer did not work for resin printing so I removed it.. please vote again if you were in those 12!)

@elduvelle@neuromatch.social I use PrusaSlicer on my Debian 13 ( "Trixie") system, slicing STLs from FreeCAD and OpenSCAD. No complaints.

@elduvelle@neuromatch.social Don't know about Chitubox, I think we tried to run it ~2 years ago via wine but it failed. The usual go-to Slicer on Linux are Orca, Cura and Prusa I think.
