I think something is shifting with my gender. Not so much in how I identify (woman), or how I want to present (basic bitch, usually).
But today, for some reason, people either emphatically gendered me female or misgendered me in about equal numbers.
And I didn't really mind?
It used to bother me so much to be misgendered, but today I kind of enjoyed the confusion.
I think I’m just getting less self-conscious about my identity. I'm a woman, and I dress the way many women dress, which is sometimes pretty basic and not overtly feminine. And I think I need that external validation less. I'm thinking about “girling right" less.
I'm me. My gender is what it is. And it doesn't really matter all that much to me if strange people on the street see that*.
Personally. There are absolutely larger societal issues that need to be rectified around the gender binary and people defaulting to that as their means of identification for people.
