@stuartyeates@cloudisland.nz I've never done any inter-wiki linking with Wikisource, but you could link to their Wikidata item using [[d:QXXXX]] or Wikipedia article [[w:XXXX]]. Not sure how to link back (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Interwiki_linking_on_Wikimedia_wikis)
Updated the Auckland example to link to Hobson's Wikipedia page https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Municipal_and_Official_Handbook_of_the_City_of_Auckland,_New_Zealand/The_City_of_Auckland

@davidnind@mastodon.nzoss.nz https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q40750021 now has a bi-directional link to https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Catholic_Encyclopedia_(1913)/New_Zealand The wikisource uses a direct link in the wikitext, which works pretty much like every other wikilink anywhere across the ecosystem. The wikidata links via a "described by source (P1343)" to the wikidata item for that page, to keep the semantics clear.
