✨ Are you in Australia and do you like being able to see the sky at night? The Australasian Dark Sky Alliance have submitted a petition to request parliament introduce legislation to control light pollution. Not to ban lights, but ensure lighting is effective and directed, not far too bright, and not on when and where not needed. If you’re an Australian resident or citizen, your signature would help. A lot. The petition is at https://www.aph.gov.au/e-petitions/petition/EN7346 and you can find out about the alliance at https://australasiandarkskyalliance.org

@cafuego Yes please. Have noticed the extent to which lighting in laneways around our apartment have been amped up in recent years, in the most wasteful and pointless ways.

@cafuego not Australian, but I would need this too, as now I kind of can just see 3-4 stars on the night sky, I should be able to see a lot more...
