44 years ago today, the world *(well, at least "our" world, that is!) lost Hugh Everett III, who introduced the world *(again, "ours") to the Many-Worlds Interpretation of quantum mechanics, which has influenced the physics community for generations.

His work has inspired countless sci-fi fans (along with quite a number of authors, tv&movie producers, too!) to dream about an infinite number of alternative possibilities manifesting as parallel universes. Perhaps he lived on in such worlds, to witness his impact upon them. /2
