Reminds me of sheepvention a few years ago. It seemed it everyone got together just dying to be aggrieved. Absolutely screaming for an injustice to be martyr to.
It was a drought, live exports had just been banned and farmers involved were feeling resentful and isolationist about the public sympathy going primarily to the animals.
I got a lot of the same vibes from the guys at the steam rally: Something has upset them. To them it's everything, it's obvious, everyone else is obviously thinking about it constantly too. So they're seeing everyone else's actions as "how you respond to [what was a life changing world event for me but you may not have seen the news that day]".
