Thought better of wading into an argument, but already typed this: #Easter's English name may come from Eostre/Ēastre, though both Wiktionary and Etymonline hedge on that ("seemingly," "proposed," "thought to", "also possibly"). Even if true, it proves no more than Holy Thursday's link to Thor. In most languages, the name is based on the Latin Pascha (from Hebrew pésakh, Passover). The timing is deliberately based on Passover, because that's when the events Easter commemorates took place.
