I think the fact that this toot is getting some attention, almost exclusively by trans folk, shows that we immediately understand this to be true while cis people aren’t so sure.
This underscores the fact that you’ve *got* to listen to the most affected people. Cis people would never consider a waitlist for HRT as unreasonable.
“Trans” happens to be a group I’m a part of, but I see this pattern repeated again and again in society’s approach to groups like disabled people, or pregnant people, or women, or racialized people, or workers… Any time you unilaterally determine policy that affects a group of people without those people being represented, nay driving, those decisions, you make a mistake.

@what I think they would understand it to be unreasonable if they got put on a several year waiting list for medication they need, but I guess we're just aliens too different from normal humans to be understood and treated as people.
