I'm currently fighting the urge to write this request for a letter of reference from my landlord in the voice of a medieval peasant. "Lady of the land, most majestic and magnanimous beneficiary of my labours, Would you please extend your widely known largess and deign to write for me a letter, addressed to other worthy owners of God's earth. I come to you in abject humility that you should explain to them that I have paid to you your dues in full, and have made few demands upon your time."
