@billbennett@mastodon.nz For sure. I imagine they would still sometimes get the occasional politically naïve person joining with the expectation of a genuinely liberal party. People do often have quite surface level ideas about what political parties stand for. But it's hard to imagine cohorts like those who joined in the great political reshuffling of the late eighties and early nineties. People who joined when Act was led by ex-Labour MPs like Roger Douglas and Richard Prebble had different expectations from today.
