@GamingWithEars honestly, I think the answer is really "no". I live in a small city and most of the small business owners just don't have the wherewithal to maintain even a brochure website. And for the few who do, it's definitely not maintained and mostly just says "call me". None of them are like "this is the best setup ever", but it's basically free and they don't have to worry about things like DDOS or lapsed invoices or the site being down. It's not the best for them, but it could be so much worse. Don't get me wrong, I would personally love to have all of these businesses off FB. But I'm not sure where else they would go? If they don't actually want to maintain a website, what's their next best thing?

@gatesvp @GamingWithEars Kolibri is a small organic grocery store in my town. They are doing their updates on mastodon, and their feed is displayed on their websites, along with more static content, like opening hours etc. https://kolibri.dk/en/welcome/ The owner is really happy with this solution, as posting stuff on mastodon is dead easy, and more importantly, every potential customer can she's up to. Wrapped in overly complicated WordPress, but I could se a market for something simple.
