Although I never received an invite from my early request, today I created an account on #bsky or whatever it's called. There will be no migration, I just wanted to follow some accounts of people who will probably never be on the fedi.
Ironically (I think) this was a day after the #HuggingFaceShitShow. So I've learned my lesson to not interact over there without posting even once. Instead all my publicly accessible data will remain on servers only loosely owned by billionaires.

I've already got several thoughts to pull together and eventually share. First of which is that a not insignificant number of responses to #HuggingFace indicate that the tech bros are a major voice there. The distance from the bad place isn't that big when "ethics" are defined by possibility and not intention. Second - I've already seen accounts who raged against moderation problems on #mastodon seemingly shrug at all of the trolls streaming into #bsky now. 🤷
