I have some knitting needles that are a very small and don't say their size on the needle itself. Most of my needles say the size either on the needle or the metal connecting part like for interchangeable ones. I have a needle organizer, but I'm so sure I'll leave needles in a project long enough that I'll forget what size they are. Do you all have any secrets for labeling needles? I don't think I could just write on them in permanent marker haha. #knitting #crochet #FiberArts

@anikeaten@kind.social maybe use a marker to draw x stripes to mean size x instead of trying to write x itself? (thick stripe for wholes, thin for halves?)

  • @anikeaten@kind.social Some people put markers like these directly on their projects to know what size the needles are https://hobbii.com/products/hp-1004457-stitch-and-needle-hook-size-markers-needle-hook-size-2-5-4-5-mm-5-pcs

@anikeaten@kind.social one solution if you don't need to frequently check is a needle gauge! https://www.knitpicks.com/mini-tool-needle-gauge/p/83850

@anikeaten@kind.social I used pieces of craft foam sheets to make stoppers to keep my work from slipping off. I also used it to keep track of which repeat I was on.

@anikeaten@kind.social I have a lot of needles without sizes. I kinda just have one of those plastic knitting needle gauges with the holes and use it to test anything I'm unsure of

@anikeaten@kind.social I have a three ring binder with zip pouches that go in it, and I label the pouch with size, then stick the needles in the pouch. Before I had the binder, I used gallon bags.

@anikeaten@kind.social I use the little label tabs that are designed for labelling keys.

@anikeaten@kind.social I use a needle gauge to determine what size I'm using. I find it very helpful too.
