depending on how thin, there may be a significant limit to how much filing it will help. Otherwise, folding it over is the thing to do (which was the approach taken in my high school metal shop going on a half century ago)

@idlestate Thank you idle! It sounds like of like making a hem with fabric, but with metal -- fold twice over so the sharp edge is tucked in entirely?
