Right. Time for my first #LotR re-read. I originally read the book some 18 years ago, and well...I've been meaning to go back to it. No time like the present I guess.
Not sure if I'm going to go Fellowship through King or if I'll split the book up into three smaller parts and allow for a break between.

@danielholt@mstdn.games godspeed! I tried to read it some years ago but couldn't get past Gandalf rattling on and on and ooooon for literally pages about something. I'm fairly sure I'll give it another go at some point though, I'm told it really is very good 😉

@danielholt@mstdn.games I tried many years ago but all the singing just put me off. Perhaps I'll try again one day and skip any singing/poems etc.

@danielholt@mstdn.games did you have a good time? I read it for the third time in 2023 I think. In a new French translation way more faithful to the original text or so I hear. I had a great time.
