@baoigheallain Oh, I'm one of those smiley vocal (and/or tunelessly singing) weirdos, too. I don't think the reactions are much better..!

@clickhere @baoigheallain I'm a guy with a low voice, so no matter how gentle I could say "on your left" at a volume that would be able to be heard by someone would likely sound like a gruff shout, so I definitely use my bell, every time.

@clickhere @baoigheallain I found bells just made people jump, so I call out “excuse me!”, or something of the sort. I used to cycle to work along the Thames path. Swans and geese are worse than most pedestrians.
