When high profile Black women and gnc birthing people like Beyoncé Knowles, Ericka Hart, Serena Williams, and Tatyana Ali are facing traumatic birthing experiences, obstetric violence, and medical racism you really have to wonder how many untold horrors working class Black women have undergone in the 21st century.
Reproductive injustice is not a siloed class issue; it requires intersectional analysis and a deep understanding of power. (1/3)

Reproductive Justice as a term emerges bc a white-dominated feminist movement focused on issues of abortion and birth control when it came to reproduction, while women of color were largely concerned with forced sterilization, maternal and infant mortality, and social determinants of health. Black and brown women theorized a framework of reproductive justice to address these particular concerns, using human rights language. https://www.sistersong.net/reproductive-justice/
