Incidentally, for those wondering how I can afford to buy 96GB of RAM, I bought that RAM last year.
I'm actually sitting on far too much hardware that has gone up significantly in value.

I did a storage cluster speed test, I got a modest 15Gbit/sec. Could be higher but I don't have enough drives and it's highly resilient storage with 3:1 redundancy.
