@Indigo our first springer (a rescue older lady) was like that - hated swimming but would wallow in puddles, no matter how muddy, like a pig. Our second lady (a slightly younger rescue) rolled in anything & everything (I think she realised rolling in gross things meant encouragement to stay swimming in the river for longer). My walk with Rosey this afternoon was watching her run from puddle to puddle... Spaniels are great, but yes, you're lucky that B didn't inherit that!
