@jfmezei@mstdn.ca The old Quebec Ontario line through Kaladar went to Toronto and Ottawa and then to Montreal.There was passenger service until the 80s when they pulled out. It is now part of the Trans Canada trail. I live here. I actually KNOW. It was a vital lifeline for Frontenac. When they shut it down because the city people weren’t using it, people who relied on the train for jobs in Oshawa- they had to move creating ghost towns and decimating the economy because who cares about rural people? Liberals, leftists can be huge hypocrites too. This is exactly the kind of response I got when I warned about the Ottawa LRT.
