The problem is always the same: spam. If you don't tight an account to anything kinda unique, spammers will create millions of them instantly. That will result in both users being spammed, and infrastructure costs exploding / denial of service. The day we have a privacy respectful way of dealing with spam, so many problems will be solved...

@fla @SemAntiKast @signalapp A solution could be, for the ones that don’t want their number tied with Signal account, a “premium plan”. You delete the spam in this way, what do you think?
