@knoppix95 @signalapp
A step in the right direction but they still require you to give them a phone number. 🙁
BTW, what happens when someone set up their acct with their phone#, then they lose that number because they don't keep up their phone service subscription? Especially if they've set up and still keep using the desktop app that was linked to that phone #?
If that's a possible scenario, then someone else will eventually get that number, so wouldn't they be getting the original person's messages, or not be able to set up their own signal because their number is already active for the original person? I don't know how it works since I've never used it, but I've wondered about that.

@leadore @signalapp Yea… my question is, is the phone number removable after signing up? Dumb phone number is not always the best choose, for the reasons you’ve listed

@leadore You do not get there messages or contacts by taking there phone number and registering, it resets everything. You can setup a pin that locks reregistration using your phone number.

@leadore @knoppix95 @signalapp even if you loose the phone number, if you keep connecting with the account it's "reserved" for you. The person getting your old number won't be able to register a signal account with it. It's in the signal docs, can't remember where
