@leafeon @eri @AmyZenunim Sophlog is clearly someone that, wrongly, believes learning skills can only be done through insititutional pathways. When for most people, following How It's Supposed to Be Learned is a sure fire way to internalize "I am a fuck up" when that pathway doesn't work for them. Because that is The Correct Way, and it isn't working for you, then you must be fundimentally broken.
A good example is math education especially in the US.

@leafeon @eri @AmyZenunim From my own experience trying some new medium, the most important skill as an artist is not technical ability, but an unreasonable ability to not rage quit the moment something goes wrong, the ability to just shrug if something "looks off", and knowing when it's better to conclude a project befor it makes you hate the whole hobby. The institutional pathway is mostly good at teaching you shame, in my experience and opinion.
