If anything owning their own refinery would make them worse off since now they have to deal with lossmaking flights they've already sold as well as a refinery about to go idle.

the refinery is in PA so it has plenty of supply, its just the raw input has price volatility. when gas was cheap it was considered a dumb move but it looks really smart rn
