the refinery is in PA so it has plenty of supply, its just the raw input has price volatility. when gas was cheap it was considered a dumb move but it looks really smart rn

The raw input has both price volatility and scarcity. They're paying a lot more for that crude than usual and a lot more people want it, so they likely can't get as much as they'd like. I doubt that refinery is working at normal capacity right now.
