Mexicans now finding themselves in the USA state of California, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, or Utah were told they would become full citizens of the USA and keep their land.
This was, of course, a lie.
They were pushed out in favor of European descended Americans.
Everything in this country is a lie.
I see the worries of Canada echoing from USA’s past. This nation has done this before.

At the time, Mexico was struggling after having just won its independence from Spain. Mexico tried to boost its recovery by renting land to USA settlers. Then the USA refused to free their slaves or leave and created Texas instead. The USA used that to further invade the still recovering Mexico and forced them at gunpoint to sell 55% of their land at a discount. These events were still in living memory when presidents like Trump and Biden were born. It really wasn’t that long ago.
