The latter reviews retired Justice Bryer's 2024 book Reading the Constitution: Why I Chose Pragmatism, Not Textualism that begins with the snails on a train anecdote, that of a biology teacher transporting snails & a conductor who insisted that passengers who transport animals on the train must purchase a ticket for the animals.

@RMiddleton absolutely incredible I only read the beginnings of the latter, and they sort of only hinted at it, but are they really defending the argument that the teacher should have bought a ticket for the snails?????? Lmao …
