All the breathless "AI is the future, you're being left behind" bloggery and linkedin posting reads to me like "you see, *my* skill is taking the request from the customer and giving it to the machine, which is why I'll have a fruitful career unlike you idiots who actually know how to do things", which is sort of equal parts hilarious and sad.

@swetland@chaos.social for years before AI this was the job of the architect/staff/principle developer. The machine was the JIRA backlog.
