Organic Maps and OsmAnd are integrating GenAI and LLM code into their development processes and codebase. This a bummer because I really like the Organic Maps UI and functionality of OsmAnd.
Are there any open mapping software projects that are not tainted by GenAI and LLMs, or should I just go back to Google Maps?
Hypocritically, Organic Maps still has the following in its contributors guide:
"When contributing to this project, you must agree that you have authored 100% of the content, that you have the necessary rights to the content and that the content you contribute may be provided under the project license."
Sorry, but the moment a project uses GenAI it loses all ability to trace authorship rights. The product is now built on stolen work and stolen intellectual property.

@CoMaps@floss.social appears to be the answer for Organic Maps. Thank you, CoMaps for not integrating GenAI into your project. Now, I just need to find an app or service to manage waypoints and markers, like I can in OsmAnd. #CoMaps

@seanm@infosec.exchange I mean I appreciate your concern here, but if you think that *Google Maps* is free from AI generated code.....
