@tea another approach that i love, which might take some time to get used to, is a Zettelkasten. especially with obsidian + some file sync solution, but i dont use obsidian because its not open source, all popular editors have plugins for it too tho maybe look up what a zettelkasten is, it's a bit hard to explain but sounds like exactly the thing you're looking for
