I know nostalgia is one helluva drug, but I wish more musical artists (specifically the ones I listen to ๐) would re-record their albums, or at least major tracks. Thrice did this with The Artist in the Ambulance, and the result is incredible. Same songs, different feel (+guests!), good times.
(I am speaking of bands that have been around for 20+ years where their style might have evolved and can justify a fresh take โ not talking about a remaster, though I occasionally appreciate those too!)

It might be seen as a cash grab, but if it's done right, then it's really worth it. Another act who re-released a couple singles is Moving Mountains with Cover the Roots/8105, and it's also great to hear the small nuance in the track. Anyways, I know remasters and remakes in cinema/gaming can be crappy and total cash grabs, but given how rare they are in music, at least for what I listen to, I sure wouldn't mind some more.
