@doriane As to your second point, sure. But it bothers me that people got pulled onto a thing which looked good. They became roped to it, only for it to turn bad and harm them and others. It bothers me that we see this happen over and over. It bothers me that somehow this cycle is still the best we can do. So that even people who’ve come to expect they’ll be screwed eventually will just keep signing up again for whatever new bait-and-switch promises them prosperity.

@xenophora I deeply agree. I've been giving talk about how "replacement isn't an alternative" in software / social networks world. because we need to exit cycle of replacement all together, like example: switching from instagram to bluesky... But what i find interesting then is that we leave the field of purely techno-criticism and enter human relationship, with socio-economical systems that are digital, but also infrastructural and also cultural. like it isn't only about the technical characteristic of a platforms (let's develop a new system) but how we as human create relationships through software that needs to be examined (sensible and honest discussions). It is more difficult, so i understand how you are bothered witnessing those cycles, but it is the actual place to fight for me, and my good tools have been feminist pedagogy & situated knowledge.
