Coworker: I propose we do X . Me: How about Y instead? Coworker: Isn't it simpler to do X? Me: Yes but Y is going to be more fun to build. And like 1.3% more efficient. But mainly, the more fun thing. I don't think they understand how much that honestly factors into my decisions.
