Trump’s twisted use of diplomatic rhetoric is part of the sham of this war. The press is acting as if when the ceasefire expires the cruise missiles will automatically start flying again. In fact, it would be completely within the President’s power not to kill children, not to waste resources, not to deepen global chaos. Perhaps we would have to live with a toll on the strait, but that’s nothing compared to the price of the war itself. We live under Trump’s whims, not any kind of articulated policy, and we need to be more honest about that. #uspol #iran
