I'm thinking about making and selling a kind of all-in-one router with ad blocking and filtering using all open source tools.
While I'm mot new to starting businesses, I'm unfamiliar with selling hardware. Any thoughts/advice on where to get started? #opensource #security #startups

@nbeeson@mastodon.social always look at what others do. Look at bulk cost, look at vendor prices, decide if that margin works for you. I had a similar idea, but the thing is, most people who know about and would use such a device, will probably build it themselves. Or know the prices and won't give you the margin you may want to have. Optimal scenario: Apple unboxing feeling, but that high quality boxes are not cheap. Also it has to work without or the least minimum amount of configuration.
