While there are entirely valid use cases for data centers, including #geospatial and #hpc and I have been involved in both when I could see, most of the SV ones are dead to me. When I turn on a light or take a call from someone down the hall, or share a private file locally, I have NO NEED or desire for an external data center to be involved. A local network that can do smart routing and support remote endpoints, like wireguard / #tailscale helps make data center computing and server hosting obsolete and irrelevant for many applications, too, while solving many local security issues with network visibility, especially for #wifi Extending my private domain over the public internet solves these problems better. @tailscale
